Photo 1:the two of them on their stall at the local Framers Market...
Photo 2:a banana tree flower... & yes, ever so slightly reminiscent of an anatomical part...
T. regularly chops them off.... & they're sold as decorative flowers.... castration is the only way if you want to go bananas...
mind you...bit of trivia for you now.... banana trees only flower once... but self-seed abundantly... as I'm reminded every time I step into the banana plantation...except that is... if you're an Abyssinian banana tree, in which case you get to keep your flower... which grows to enormous proportions... because you don't ever produce any fruits.... my, how my world-view is changing!!!!Photos 3 & 4... flowers from Earthtalk...
